The Reverend Ted Goshorn joined in ministry with Eastman First Methodist in June of 2017. Ted brings with him a passion for equipping churches to transform their communities into corners of the Kingdom of God.
Ted serves at the intersection of the community’s need and the church’s resources. As such, Ted founded the first part-time day care program in Dodge County, established a working partnership with Dodge County Schools, and strengthened the church’s relationship with the local food bank.
Additionally, Ted serves his community in the role of Chair of the Board and President of the Eastman-Dodge County Area Chamber of Commerce. Ted is also a member of the Eastman Rotary Club and serves as a partner with Communities in Schools.
Ted grew up in Rome, Georgia but is not new to middle Georgia, having lived for seven years in Macon. He and his wife, Dana, and their two children Jackson and Carter, have found a wonderful and welcoming home in Eastman and look forward to many years of ministry here.
Ted earned his Bachelor of Arts, Magna Cum Laude, in History from Berry College, his Master of Education in Counseling and Higher Education Administration from James Madison University, and his Master of Divinity from Emory University‘s Candler School of Theology. He is an Elder in the South Georgia Annual Conference. He has served as pastor of the Baldwin County Circuit, composed of Bethel, Pleasant Grove, and Linton United Methodist Churches; Vineville United Methodist as Associate Pastor; Chaplain of Reinhardt University; and Pastor of Adairsville First United Methodist; prior to being appointed to Eastman First.
