Centering on Christ

You may have noticed we moved the table to the center of the chancel area. We did so to mark an important symbol: Christ should be at the center of our lives. When the pulpit is in the center, it naturally puts the focus on the worship leader, usually the preacher. Never should the worship leader, nor even I as your pastor, be the center of our attention nor the center of our lives. Our lives, rather, should be lived with Christ as the center, represented by the Table. And so we mark the center of our lives by marking Christ as the center of our worship with this Table, where we gain sustenance for daily living with Christ, where we find grace in abundance, where we experience love in perfection. As we worship together, I hope you will come and center your hearts here on our Table, a reminder to center your life in Jesus.
